The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Freedom World, a Web3 community platform, are forging a new partnership to reshape travel with advanced technology, as reported to Finbold on Thursday, November 7.

Built on Fuse Network’s (FUSE) blockchain, the partnership is expected to promote Thailand as a tech-oriented travel destination and provide an example of government-endorsed blockchain initiatives.

Among the standout features is Scape Game, a metaverse title blending real-world exploration with digital rewards and allowing users to complete missions to earn Freedom Shards, digital credits redeemable for real-world rewards such as discounts and rewards at local establishments..

The Alpha version of Scape Game is scheduled to release on November 9,

Another highlight feature is the Social Rating system, which acknowledges user contributions within communities to encourage participation.

An opportunity for governments to leverage blockchain technology

Mark Smargon, chief executive officer (CEO) of Fuse, characterized the collaboration as an opportunity for a government-backed project to leverage blockchain:

“It’s great to see governmental organizations utilizing blockchain to obtain practical solutions to specific challenges. Freedom’s partnership with Thailand’s tourism authority will boost local businesses, who will be able to generate additional revenue, while demonstrating the advantages of web3 systems for providing transparency and deep insights into consumer behaviors. It also showcases one of the primary use cases for Fuse, in allowing organizations to operate loyalty programs that incentivize and reward specific actions.”

Kevin Heng, Chief Strategy Officer and Co-founder of the Freedom Ecosystem, further commented commented:

“Freedom is about expanding our collaborative ecosystem where it’s mutually beneficial, as seen with the Fuse chain and Freedom World App. This partnership underscores our commitment to offering web3 solutions where they are most needed, creating sustainable and long-lasting impacts in the micro economy. Freedom is an ideal real-world use case of the Fuse chain, demonstrating how blockchain technology can be seamlessly integrated to enhance travel experiences and support local communities.”

Initially, the initiative will focus on popular destinations like Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, and Koh Tao, but there are plans to expand throughout Thailand.
